Christmas Progressive Dinner

Thursday, December 3rd at 6:15 the Relief Society is meeting at the church to caravan through a tour of 4 sisters homes. Cars will be assigned a rotation and leave promptly at 6:30.

The first hour will be spent rotating through 3 of the homes: Celeste Pearsons, Lisa Tomlinsons, and Lynda Hjelms. Each home will be beautifully decorated for Christmas. Sisters will have about 15 minutes at each home sampling a variety of holiday appetizers, visiting with the sisters and soaking in the spirit of the holidays.

Our second hour all our Lake City Relief Society sisters will be meeting at Christy Luellens home for desserts, a short program and a holiday no-cost gift exchange. Please bring a small wrapped gift: something from around the house that you no longer want that someone else may like (a book, an ornament, a decoration, a CD, something handmade, etc.)

It's going to be SUPER!

Super Saturday is November 14th. All our craft classes are filled but that doesn't mean you can't still participate; there's still plenty to do! There are free demonstration classes running throughout the event as well as a quilting corner, a luncheon from 11-11:30, open tables for finishing up projects from home, and door prizes!

The first demonstration class begins at 9am. It is "Gifts in a Jar" by Sister Dawn Lucas of the Lakewood ward. The second class begins at 10am. It is "Cupcake Decorating" by Sister Jayme Blackner. The last class is "Pie Baking" with Sister Peggy Dooley from the Lakewood ward. It will begin right after lunch at 11:30am.

In the quilting corner we will be starting (and hopefully finishing) our last handmade quilt for the Deseret Industries Bishop's Christmas. Whether you are an old tying pro or want to learn how stop over and spend a few minutes chatting over the quilt.

We will have a delicious assortment of soup, salads and breadsticks for lunch provided by volunteer sisters in the ward. Of course we will have some yummy holiday desserts to munch on too. Lunch will be served from 11-11:30am.

Do you have unfinished projects leftover from years past? Bring those along and set up shop at one of the empty tables we'll have available just for you and sisters like you. We'd love to see what you're working on.

We look forward to seeing you on the 14th!

I love secrets!

Isn't it just so exciting to know a secret-------and soooo hard to keep!

Well I'm just bursting at the seams with excitement for our upcoming Enrichment Night "A Night of Mystery". I want to tell you all about it but Sis. Ross, our wonderful, amazing, funloving enrichment leader, has sworn me to secrecy. BUT I JUST CAN'T WAIT! I really wish I could tell you now.

I can tell you this much though: Sis. Kathy Warczak is in charge of a light supper for us all, we will have our first ever Give and Take table, prizes will be awarded to any of you sisters who have zucchini's to show off from our Bloomin' Good Time Enrichment, AND, as if all that wasn't enough, we will be holding our grand opening of Super Saturday Sign-ups!!!!

More info on the zucchini contest: Bring your best zucchini specimen. Whether you judge it your best because of it's perfect size or greenness bring it along. Perhaps your zucchini needs a little dressing up/decorating/carving to be at it's best, or is your zucchini at it's best in a tummy-licious recipe? Whatever it is bring your best zucchini with you for a chance to win marvelous prizes. Creativity is encouraged.
Don't know what a Give and Take table is? There will be a large table set out for you to place any gently used and unwanted household items on for other sisters to take from and you are welcome to take anything anyone else has placed there. At the end of the night anything left over will be taken to the DI truck. Don't know what to bring? Got some extra towels? Maybe some clothes you "grew" out of? How about that extra set of pots or pots of divided daylilies? Anything you want to clean out of your house and give to a sister is welcome.

Wow, All this and a MYSTERY to boot!
This is gonna be soooo awesome!

Breadmaking with Harriet McKie

Last month Sister Harriet McKie invited the sisters of the ward to her house to learn how to bake bread. They had a wonderful time mixing and kneading and shaping and baking and the bread was oh, so delicious!

If you are interested in taking Harriet's bread class please let us know, she is willing to do another class in August if there are Sisters who want to learn.

Blueberry picking

Join us at the Blueberry Park and pick till your heart's content
Tuesday, July 28th
9am-noon

Bring a lunch and your own buckets for collecting berries (a plastic milk carton with the top cut out works great. If you leave the handle intact you can hook it through a belt and pick two-handed.)

If you can't make it that day the blueberry park is open all day every day to pick for free while the berries are ripe.

The Enrichment-go-round

Hi, I'm Dani Dooley and I'm the new Enrichment Counselor in the Lake City Ward. I'm very excited to take a turn running Enrichment Events throughout the year. I'm going to be sticking with some of the old--Book Club, play group, Lunch Bunch, Craft groups--and I'd like to include a few new tricks too. We'll get some short term classes on blogging and family history going, restart our cooking classes and get a couple institute and temple car-pools running. In addition I am currently planning for our summer garden party. The date is to be announced soon and will be an event you won't want to miss!

If ever there is a group or class that you would like to start or try out please let me know. I have an open mind and will do everything I can to help you get it going.

Please take a minute to bookmark this page. It will be updated on an irregular basis but will include announcements, events, times, and details you don't want to miss out on. Thanks!
